Thursday 19th July; Ten members met at Furness Abbey for a final monthly meeting before the summer. The day was all about enjoying the sunshine and learning about some of the history of the area and of trees and wild plants growing there - followed by our normal noisy conversations over lunch at the Cafe
(Video of the event coming soon) -

We have agreed to meet again next to have a similar walk and a little picnic, this time in Ulverston by the shore.
We plan to meet 2.30 Tuesday 24th July at The Bay Horse Inn, Canal Foot, Ulverston.  Check Our Events Page keep up to date with possible changes to the plans.

Saturday 14th July - Intranslation public event; Manchester Art Gallery

Several Furness participants of In Translation project attended the event, which was a continuation of In Translation project.  A large group of families from the Manchester Malaysian community enjoyed the day, together with other families who came to join in the event, titled Imagination.

Jo Ann, Sol, Wai King, Wendy and Julie helped to facilitate and document the event which featured a drawing workshop for the public to create their own beautiful bird images whilst exploring themes of migration with artist Chiz Turnross and the women involved in the project.

Message from Ruth Edson, Community Development Manager at Manchester Art Gallery.
Dear Wendy, Julie, Jo Ann, Wai King and Sol,
Thank you so much for coming to the gallery on Saturday, it was lovely to see you again.  Thank you so much for all your work, time, thoughts and commitment.  You really added a lot to the day.
